Anthony Mackie Approves of Chris Evans Reported Return to the MCU. After reports surfaced that Chris Evans is in talks to return as Steve Rogers/Captain America in the MCU fans instantly began theorizing on how The First Avenger would return. A majority of fans are in favor to see Steve Rogers back in action but what about his co-stars? When it comes to one of Steve Rogers best friends, Sam Wilson played by Anthony Mackie is all for his return, should it come to fruition.
Mackie recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and when asked about the reports of Evans return Anthony shared that, should the rumors be true, he would be happy to get the band back together, stating: “Ya know, I’ve heard that, I’ve seen that, and, look, Chris is my boy, so if they’re getting the band back together, I’ll be very happy with that.” Anthony Mackie is set to return as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in the new Marvel Studios Disney+ Original Series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
There are many theories as to how Steve Rogers could return in varying capacities, but it has been shared by Deadline that should Chris return it would be in supporting roles or cameos, rather than leading future Marvel titles.
