First Look at Disney’s Upcoming Fortnite Universe Appears in New Launcher Preview
Disney and Epic Games are continuing to build toward their massive shared gaming universe, and we may have just gotten one of our clearest looks yet at how Disney will fit into Fortnite’s future. A new Rocket League video previewing its upcoming move to Unreal Engine 6 briefly showed an updated launcher with dedicated tiles for Fortnite, Rocket League, LEGO Fortnite, collaborations, and Disney.

The Disney tile uses artwork that looks very similar to concept art previously released for the larger Disney universe being developed with Epic Games. While the quick glimpse does not reveal much about gameplay, it does reinforce that Disney is being positioned as a major part of the platform rather than just another limited-time collaboration.
Disney and Fortnite have already been laying plenty of groundwork through character skins, Star Wars events, and special experiences, including Smugglers Gambit, which ties directly into Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney Parks. Those smaller crossovers have given us a taste of what the two companies are building toward, but the full Disney universe is expected to be much bigger, bringing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and other brands together inside one connected experience.

The full Disney universe is currently expected to arrive alongside Unreal Engine 6 in 2027, though an exact launch date has not been announced. For now, this new launcher preview offers another little peek behind the curtain at what could become one of Disney’s biggest gaming projects yet.
