Disney Moves Olivia’s Cafe Family Photo Wall Into Albums at Old Key West Resort

A longtime piece of Disney Vacation Club history has changed at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, as the family photos that once covered the walls of Olivia’s Cafe have officially been removed from the restaurant and relocated into photo albums nearby.

The collection of Member vacation photos had become a familiar part of Olivia’s Cafe over the years, helping give the restaurant a cozy, lived-in feel that fit perfectly with Old Key West’s laid-back atmosphere. Following routine maintenance at the restaurant, the photos were taken down, with Disney noting that some had aged or begun to fade. The walls now feature more traditional Florida Keys and nautical decor, including anchors, fish, coastal signs, a ship’s wheel, and an Olivia’s Cafe sign.

The good news is that the memories have not disappeared. The photos have been preserved inside a collection of “Family Album: Meet Our Members!” albums located at Conch Flats Community Hall. Sixteen albums are currently displayed in the space, giving guests and longtime DVC Members a chance to flip through years of family memories that were once spread across the restaurant walls. Members can also continue submitting photos for possible inclusion in the collection by following Disney’s submission process and providing the required release forms.

While we are glad to see Disney preserving the photos rather than removing them entirely, there is something special about the original wall display that will be hard to recreate. Those family snapshots helped make Olivia’s Cafe feel less like a themed restaurant and more like a genuine neighborhood gathering place. Guests can still seek out those memories at Community Hall, but the walls inside Olivia’s definitely look a little different these days.
