Magic Kingdom Hours Shift for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Season
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season is officially underway at Magic Kingdom, and with it comes a big shift in park hours that guests will want to keep an eye on before heading to Walt Disney World.

On currently confirmed party nights through August 21, Magic Kingdom is opening at 8 a.m., with Early Theme Park Entry beginning at 7:30 a.m. for eligible Disney Resort hotel guests. The park then closes to regular day guests at 6 p.m., ahead of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which runs from 7 p.m. until midnight for guests with a separate party ticket.
Those early closures also mean regular guests will not see Happily Ever After or the Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade on party nights. Guests hoping to catch either nighttime spectacular will need to visit on a non-party day, which can make those dates especially popular later in the afternoon and evening.
Right now, party dates beginning August 23 are still showing a 9 a.m. opening on Disney’s calendar, while keeping the 6 p.m. close. Those hours could still change as Disney continues updating its operating calendar, so guests should not assume the currently posted opening time is final.
Most non-party days return to a 9 a.m. opening, with Early Theme Park Entry beginning at 8:30 a.m., although some dates are opening earlier. Non-party nights also keep Magic Kingdom open later, generally until 10 or 11 p.m., giving guests more time in the park along with access to the regular nighttime entertainment.
The shifting schedule can also affect Extended Evening Theme Park Hours for eligible Deluxe Resort guests. On some dates those hours remain at Magic Kingdom, while on others they may move to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This pattern will continue throughout Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season and return once Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off later this year. Disney updates park hours regularly, so checking the calendar close to your visit is especially important during party season. A couple of hours can make a big difference between catching fireworks and finding yourself heading for the exit before the sun goes down.
