Stitch’s Great Escape Characters Pop Up in New Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Window Graphics
There are some new faces peeking out around Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, and one window includes a pretty deep-cut nod to a former Disney attraction. New character graphics have appeared inside several of the round windows near Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor and the nearby Stitch character meet-and-greet. The windows now feature a collection of colorful alien and monster characters looking out at guests passing through the area, adding a little extra life to this corner of Tomorrowland.

Among the characters featured in the new displays are two faces that longtime Magic Kingdom fans may recognize. Ensign Getco and First Officer Ombit appear together in one of the windows, characters previously seen in Stitch’s Great Escape! at Magic Kingdom.
Getco and Ombit were members of the United Galactic Federation featured during Stitch’s Great Escape!, appearing as part of the story surrounding the capture and transportation of Experiment 626. Of course, anyone who experienced the attraction knows that keeping Stitch contained did not exactly go according to plan.
The former Stitch’s Great Escape! attraction opened in Tomorrowland in 2004, replacing The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. It eventually moved to seasonal operation before closing permanently, leaving Stitch without his own attraction in Tomorrowland. Today, Stitch continues to meet guests nearby, making the appearance of Getco and Ombit just steps away an especially fun callback.
The other windows feature additional alien and monster characters, creating the look of a whole group of curious creatures watching guests from inside. While most appear connected more broadly to the colorful sci-fi atmosphere surrounding Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, spotting two characters from Stitch’s former attraction makes the update much more interesting for Disney history fans.

It is a small detail, but it is exactly the kind of Tomorrowland Easter egg we love finding. Stitch may have made his great escape years ago, but apparently a couple members of the Galactic Federation never left the neighborhood.
