Macaulay Culkin Pitches Fresh ‘Home Alone’ Sequel Idea to Disney
Kevin McCallister might not be done setting booby traps just yet!
Macaulay Culkin has revealed that he actually met with Disney executives to pitch his very own creative concept for a new Home Alone project.

During a recent interview, Culkin shared that following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox—which brought the Home Alone franchise under the Disney umbrella—he sat down with studio heads to discuss how to naturally bring Kevin McCallister back to life for modern audiences.
Rather than a simple nostalgia cash-grab, Culkin’s concept flips the original premise on its head:
“I pitched them an idea where Kevin is older, he has a kid of his own, and he’s so paranoid about what happened to him as a child that he over-prepares his house with elaborate security systems and traps—only for his kid to accidentally set them all off.”
While Disney ultimately went a different direction with the 2021 Disney+ original Home Sweet Home Alone (which featured a cameo from Devin Ratray as Buzz McCallister, but no Culkin), fans have long clamored for a true continuation starring the original icon.
Though Disney hasn’t officially greenlit Culkin’s concept yet, the idea of an adult Kevin McCallister obsessively booby-trapping his home to protect his own kids is the exact kind of self-aware humor holiday movie fans would love to see.
