Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train Roars Into Halloween Horror Nights With New Prince of Darkness Haunted House
All aboard the Crazy Train! Halloween Horror Nights is turning up the volume this fall with “Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness,” an all-original haunted house celebrating the life, music, and delightfully dark imagination of one of heavy metal’s greatest icons.

The new house opens Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Created as a living horror movie rather than a traditional memorial, the experience will send guests through 45 years of Ozzy Osbourne’s outrageous solo career, with each coast offering its own twisted journey through the worlds he created.
Music will guide guests through every room, with songs and imagery inspired by albums including Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Scream, and Ordinary Man. The house draws from all 13 of Ozzy’s solo albums, transforming his music, album artwork, unforgettable personas, and sinister stage presence into a full-scale Halloween Horror Nights experience.
“Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries, and he loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created,” Sharon and Jack Osbourne said in a joint statement. “Halloween Horror Nights has done an incredible job bringing that spirit to life. Walking through these haunted houses, you’ll recognize so many moments inspired by his music and imagination. It’s a wonderful tribute to Ozzy, and we hope fans have as much fun experiencing it as he would have had seeing it come together.”
Universal Studios Hollywood will take fans back to where the story began in Birmingham, England, the hometown of John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne. Beginning with “Crazy Train,” the house will follow Ozzy from his childhood into the Osbourne Asylum, inspired by Diary of a Madman. Guests will encounter several versions of his legendary persona along the way, including Madman Ozzy, Werewolf Ozzy, and the Prince of Darkness himself.
John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, said Ozzy did more than help define heavy metal. He created a cultural phenomenon that influenced generations of music, art, and horror. Universal previously collaborated with Ozzy and Black Sabbath, and Murdy said the new house offers an opportunity to celebrate Ozzy’s extraordinary solo career through the dark and surreal worlds that cemented his legacy.
Universal Orlando’s version will head in a different direction, dropping guests into ancient ruins and foreboding dungeons before they board the Crazy Train for a one-way trip into Ozzy’s twisted imagination. The fantastical realm will be inspired by the covers of Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, The Ultimate Sin, and Black Rain, leaning into the heavier sound and sinister imagery that shaped the later years of his career.
Mike Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort, said the creative team worked closely with the Osbourne family to build an authentic tribute that captures Ozzy’s creativity and personality. Fans should keep their eyes open while wandering through the darkness, as the house will include meaningful details and hidden Easter eggs inspired by his career.
Sharon Osbourne also shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the project brought happiness and pride to the family rather than sadness. She said Ozzy adored horror movies and Halloween and would have loved seeing fans enter a haunted house inspired by his music, life, and unmistakable personality. According to Sharon, he would have been laughing his head off while watching it all come together.

New limited-release merchandise inspired by “Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness” is also beginning to surface. A themed T-shirt and an Ozzy acrylic figure, which can be added to the separately sold Infernal Carnival collectible display, are now available at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights at Universal Orlando Resort from August 28 through November 1 and at Universal Studios Hollywood from September 3 through November 1.
