Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Gift Shop Closing Temporarily in August
Guests staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village will temporarily lose access to the resort’s main gift shop later this summer. Johari Treasures is scheduled to close from August 17 through August 28, reopening to guests on August 29.

Located just off the Kidani Village lobby, Johari Treasures normally operates from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. The shop carries Disney merchandise, resort essentials, snacks, clothing, and authentic African crafts. Its name means “gem” in Swahili, making the store a fitting place to hunt for a special souvenir from an Animal Kingdom Lodge stay.
Disney has not announced the reason for the nearly two-week closure or confirmed whether merchandise and essential items will be offered from a temporary location. Guests staying at Kidani Village during the closure may need to visit Zawadi Marketplace at nearby Jambo House for Disney souvenirs and other vacation necessities. Guests should check with the resort upon arrival for the latest information and any temporary shopping arrangements.
