Black Smoke Visible at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

A brief fire emergency occurred on the morning of July 15, 2026, at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Guests and onlookers spotted a heavy plume of dark black smoke rising from the roof of the deluxe resort shortly after 11:00 a.m.. Video and photos shared on social media from mywifestvshowsstink captured the brief but concerning sight rising over the EPCOT-area hotel.

Swift Response and Control

Fortunately, the incident was incredibly short-lived. According to eyewitness accounts, the visible smoke and fire only lasted for about one to two minutes.

Local emergency dispatch logs indicate that a call for service was placed for a fire at the resort at approximately 11:06 a.m.. Emergency services responded quickly to the call, but early signs suggest the situation was brought under control almost immediately.

Potential Cause

While Disney has not yet released an official statement on the exact cause of the smoke, the resort is currently in the middle of an extensive exterior refurbishment project.
