Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Closing for Seasonal Refurbishment This September
If you’re planning to cool off at Walt Disney World this fall, be sure to mark your calendar. Disney has announced that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will temporarily close beginning September 9, 2026, for its annual seasonal refurbishment.

The good news is that guests will still have a water park to enjoy. Disney’s Blizzard Beach will remain open while Typhoon Lagoon is closed, continuing the recent tradition of keeping at least one of Walt Disney World’s two water parks operating throughout the year. Disney has not yet announced when Typhoon Lagoon will reopen.
The closure also marks the end of this year’s complimentary water park benefit for Disney Resort hotel guests. Guests checking in through September 8, 2026, can still enjoy free admission to the open water park on their check-in day. Beginning September 9, Blizzard Beach will be the eligible water park for qualifying arrivals, subject to availability and weather conditions.

While it is always a little bittersweet to see Typhoon Lagoon close for the season, the rotating refurbishment schedule helps ensure one of Disney’s beloved water parks is ready to welcome guests year-round. If a visit to Typhoon Lagoon has been on your summer plans, now is the time to make a splash before the waves settle for the season.
