New construction images reveal significant progress throughout the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit site, with long stretches of light gray track now installed across the heart of the project. Several sweeping turns have been completed, making the overall layout much easier to follow as it winds around the construction site and past the Hard Rock Cafe. The track now flows through multiple blue support structures, giving guests their clearest look yet at how the coaster will weave through the front of Universal Studios Florida.

One of the attraction’s most impressive features remains the towering 170-foot spike near Universal CityWalk. Universal has previously confirmed that riders will rocket nearly 17 stories into the air before the train comes to a stop and reverses direction. While the spike itself has been standing for some time, additional track and support pieces continue to be installed around the area as crews work to connect more of the coaster’s layout.

Elsewhere on the site, construction has advanced on several banked turns and the smaller bunny hop section leading toward the spike. From above, these once-isolated track pieces are now beginning to connect into a more complete ride path. Nearby staging areas remain packed with additional track segments and support columns, signaling that plenty of installation work is still ahead.

When it opens in 2027, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit with a high-speed launch coaster inspired by Universal’s blockbuster film franchise. While there’s still a long way to go before trains begin testing, these latest aerial images show the project rapidly transforming from a construction zone into one of Universal Orlando’s most anticipated new attractions.
