Waterview Park Stage Construction at Disney Springs Taking Longer Than Expected

Back in early May, construction walls went up around the Waterview Park stage at Disney Springs as work began on a project to add a roof over the popular entertainment venue’s seating area. At the time, Disney indicated the refurbishment would take about a month. More than six weeks later, however, the walls remain firmly in place and the project appears far from complete.

Waterview Park Roof Installation Taking Longer than Expected in Disney Springs

During a visit to Disney Springs this weekend, we found construction still ongoing around the stage located near Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. While some visible progress has been made, including the installation of structural framing that appears to be part of the future covered seating area, the roof itself has yet to be installed.

The light blue construction walls continue to surround both the stage and guest seating areas, preventing performances from returning to their longtime home. Looking over the walls, guests can spot the curved wooden framing that will eventually support the new canopy structure, but there is still plenty of work remaining before the venue is ready to welcome performers and audiences back.

When Disney announced the project, the goal was to provide covered seating for guests enjoying live entertainment, offering relief from both Florida’s intense sunshine and frequent afternoon rain showers. Once complete, the upgrade should make the venue significantly more comfortable year-round.

For now, live entertainment that would normally take place at Waterview Park remains relocated elsewhere in Disney Springs. While construction projects often encounter delays, it’s clear this one will extend well beyond the originally anticipated one-month timeline.

We’ll continue keeping an eye on the project and provide updates as work progresses. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before guests can once again enjoy live music from the waterfront stage, this time with a little extra shade overhead.
