Universal Cracks Down on Drone Flights Over New UK Theme Park Construction Site
As construction activity ramps up at the newly named Universal Destinations & Experiences development in Bedford, England, the company has issued cease-and-desist notices to drone operators flying over or near the construction zone. According to a new notice posted on the project’s website, the move is aimed at protecting the safety and privacy of workers as construction efforts continue to expand.

Universal says it has observed drones operating at low altitudes over the site, capturing footage that clearly identifies personnel and then sharing that content online. In response, the company has formally prohibited drone operations over or near the property without prior written authorization. Copies of the legal notice have been posted around the construction site and made available online.
The update comes just days after Universal officially unveiled the name and branding for the upcoming Universal United Kingdom Resort during a groundbreaking celebration attended by company executives and UK government officials. The massive resort project, located roughly 45 minutes from London, is expected to become one of the largest entertainment developments in Europe when it opens in 2031.
