Disney Announces Closing Date for Soarin’ Over California
The countdown to closing has officially begun for the limited-time return of a fan favorite. Disney has announced the final flight date for Soarin’ Over California at Disney California Adventure, making way for the upcoming installation of Soarin’ Across America.
According to the official Soarin’ Over California webpage, the attraction’s limited run is updated to state: “Glide above the Golden State’s natural and man-made wonders—February 6 through June 30, 2026.” This marks June 30 as your very last chance to catch the nostalgic California version before the theater transitions to the newly introduced Soarin’ Across America on July 2, perfectly timed for the Independence Day holiday weekend.
The beloved California edition originally took flight this past February to celebrate the milestone 25th anniversary of Disney California Adventure. Typically, the pavilion hosts the standard Soarin’ Around the World film, making this extended, fragrant trip over the state’s orange groves and coastlines a special treat for park-goers.
Debuting as a marquee highlight of the nation’s 250th birthday celebrations, Soarin’ Across America promises to take passengers on a breathtaking journey from sea to shining sea. While Disney has confirmed that this patriotic flight will only be available for a limited time, they have not yet announced exactly how long the temporary run will last.
The brand-new film is scheduled to make its official world debut at EPCOT on May 26. When the Disney California Adventure version takes flight in July, West Coast guests can expect a nearly identical experience to the Florida counterpart—with one major, magic-making exception: the epic fireworks finale will be custom-tailored to feature Disneyland Park instead of EPCOT.
