First Look at Peter Pan and Wendy Flying Above the London Skyline in Disney Starlight

Guests watching the Disney Starlight parade last night were treated to a magical surprise as a long-awaited feature finally made its debut. During the April 9th performance of “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away,” Peter Pan and Wendy were seen flying above their float for the very first time since the parade began its run.

The Peter Pan and Wendy Flight Stunt Makes Its Public Debut

When Disney Starlight first premiered on July 20, 2025, fans immediately noticed that the Peter Pan unit seemed designed for more than what was being shown. The float, which features a shimmering, oversized Big Ben and the London skyline, appeared to have technical rigging similar to the “Dreaming Up!” parade at Tokyo Disneyland. However, for the first several months of the show’s run, Peter and Wendy remained grounded, dancing on the deck of the float rather than soaring above it.

That changed during last night’s 8:30 p.m. performance. As the float made its way through Liberty Square and down Main Street, U.S.A., the duo took to the air, circling high above the London rooftops in a stunning display of “pixie dust” and choreography. The addition of the flight sequence adds a dynamic layer of verticality to the unit, making it one of the most technically impressive moments in the entire parade.

Continuous Enhancements for the Magic Kingdom Nighttime Parade

This upgrade is part of a series of “soft” updates Disney has made to the parade since its summer 2025 debut. In December, the Moana unit underwent a significant change when the sheer fabric “waves” used by the dancers were replaced with brightly-lit fiber optic cables to better suit the nighttime environment.

The arrival of the flight stunt suggests that Disney Imagineers have been working behind the scenes to fine-tune the parade’s more complex elements. For guests who have already seen Disney Starlight, the addition of the flying sequence offers a brand-new reason to find a spot along the parade route once again.

With summer crowds on the horizon, the timing of this technical debut couldn’t be better. The flight stunt is expected to remain a permanent fixture of the Peter Pan unit, ensuring that the boy who wouldn’t grow up finally gets to show off his wings at the Magic Kingdom.
