Lazy River Confirmed at Disney’s Upcoming Lakeshore Lodge DVC Resort
Looks like the “relaxation level” at Walt Disney World’s next resort is going to float way above the rest. Recent aerial photos from @bioreconstruct confirm that Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the new Disney Vacation Club resort rising on the shores of Bay Lake, will include its very own lazy river—only the second at any Disney World hotel.

Located on the former River Country site next to Fort Wilderness, the sprawling new property is now visibly taking shape, with construction progress revealing more details by the week. In the latest images, captured from approximately 3,100 feet in the air, the foundation for a large pool area and winding lazy river is unmistakable between the resort’s two main wings.
The river’s concrete outline is nearly complete, forming an elegant oval shape beside a feature pool that includes both steps and a sloped ramp for accessibility. Part of the surface is still covered in protective yellow sheeting, but the layout makes it clear this won’t be your average resort pool—it’s designed for that perfect float-and-forget afternoon.

The lazy river is positioned just behind the future main entrance of the resort, which can be spotted in the aerials as a section of bright red framing. A nearby standalone structure is also under construction closer to the water’s edge—potentially a lakeside restaurant offering those signature Disney sunset views.
Elsewhere on the site, construction continues on A-frame cabins reminiscent of the shelved Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge project that previously occupied the space in Disney’s plans. While Disney hasn’t yet released official concept art for Lakeshore Lodge, many of these architectural details align closely with the original Reflections design, suggesting that vision has been reworked rather than abandoned.

The resort’s theme will center around nature and serenity, complementing the surrounding wilderness and Fort Wilderness Campground. When complete, Lakeshore Lodge will feature a feature pool, lazy river, splash pad, leisure pool, and direct access to Bay Lake via a new dock under construction.
