Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction Reaches New Heights with A-Frame Cabins and Roof Framing in Progress

There’s a new chapter being written along the shores once graced by River Country, and it’s looking like a stunner! Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the upcoming Disney Vacation Club resort nestled beside Fort Wilderness, is steadily rising from the ground, and the latest construction photos show some serious progress on this lakeside escape.

Thanks to the eagle-eyed aerial views from @bioreconstruct on X, we’ve got a bird’s-eye peek at how far things have come. From the sky, you can see all three wings of the resort starting to take shape, with the central courtyard area becoming more defined. The tallest structure on-site is now reaching its ninth floor, with cranes lifting steel trusses into place, and door frames and future balconies are beginning to appear like magic.

The pièce de résistance for many DVC fans might just be the A-frame cabins, reminiscent of the design teased in the once-cancelled Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge project. While Reflections may have been scrapped, it seems Disney is recycling some of that nature-inspired vision for Lakeshore Lodge. Four of these charming cabin frames are already in place near Clementine Beach, and seven more are in progress on the opposite side of the resort, with space potentially cleared for an eighth. Whether these future stays will come with lakefront or woodland views, one thing’s for sure; they’re going to be dreamy!

Around the main lodge, construction is moving quickly. The wing closest to the cabins now has sheathing on the first floor, and prep work has started for wrapping the second and third. Windows and sliding glass doors are also being installed across several levels. From nearby Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Arcade, you can even spot wall frames forming through the openings.

While Disney has filed permits for a 10-story build, some of the structure may be tiered, especially the wing facing Clementine Beach, where roofing frames are now being added.

The site itself holds a bit of nostalgic Disney history, as Lakeshore Lodge is being built where the old River Country water park once stood. Initially announced in 2018 as Reflections, construction was halted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But now, the dream is alive again; refreshed, renamed, and back on track for a grand opening in 2027.

Inspired by the majesty of nature and the timeless stories it’s sparked, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is poised to become a serene and stylish new addition to the DVC family. Whether you’re looking for rustic luxury, peaceful views, or simply want to wake up near the wilds of Fort Wilderness, this is one project to keep your eye on.
