Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Undergoing Exterior Refurbishment

Heads Up, Wilderness Lodge Guests: Construction Continues Through 2025 🪵🔧

If you’re planning a visit to the rustic and serene Disney’s Wilderness Lodge anytime soon, you might notice a few extra hammers and hard hats around your peaceful escape. Beginning August 5, 2024, Disney officially kicked off a scheduled exterior refurbishment of both Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas, and the work is continuing in stages across the resort well into 2025.

While this isn’t a major overhaul that will change the charming Pacific Northwest aesthetic (phew!), guests should be aware of some visual and logistical detours along the way.

What’s Being Refurbished — and When?

• Exterior Work: Ongoing since August 2024, visible from most areas of the resort. Though the updates are happening in small sections, the work is noticeable throughout the property.
• Guest Room Refurbishments: Specifically for Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, beginning mid-May 2025 and continuing through September 2025.
• No Major Design Changes: This is a standard upkeep refurbishment, so the Lodge’s iconic look and feel will remain the same.

What Should Guests Expect?

• Daylight Construction Only: The good news is that the construction only takes place during daytime hours and has generally been quiet and non-intrusive.
• All Amenities Still Open: Pools, dining (mostly), and recreation are still available to guests.
• Outdoor Seating at Roaring Fork Closed: This is currently the most notable guest impact. The quick-service spot remains open, but the outdoor seating area is temporarily unavailable, creating a bit of a bottleneck for guests walking from the boat dock or pool area to the lobby.
• Character Dining at Artist Point Unaffected: Thankfully, the views from the enchanting Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White are mostly unobstructed. So you can still dine with Dopey without hearing drills in the distance.

If you have a trip planned to Wilderness Lodge in 2025, keep these refurbishments in mind when booking and navigating the resort. For many, the impact is minor—but if you’re looking for peace and quiet in the great outdoors, it’s good to know what to expect.
