Universal Hollywood Unveils Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift
Universal Studios Hollywood has just announced “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift,” their first-ever high-speed outdoor roller coaster, set to launch in 2026. This adrenaline-pumping attraction will debut as the fastest roller coaster in the entire Universal Destinations & Experiences portfolio, reaching a staggering 72 MPH. The theme park also dropped a sneak peek, revealing a first-look rendering and an exciting animatic video that highlights the immense scale and thrill of this upcoming ride.

Construction continues on this ambitious roller coaster, which features a state-of-the-art ride system uniquely designed to immerse guests in Universal Pictures’ exhilarating Fast & Furious universe.
This innovative coaster will take guests on an adventure unlike anything before. Its groundbreaking 360-degree rotating ride vehicles will rocket passengers up to 72 MPH along 4,100 feet of elaborate track. This track is meticulously constructed with sound reduction technology to ensure a truly breathtaking experience.
The fully rotational ride vehicles will create the seamless sensation of drifting cars as guests spin at furiously fast speeds. They’ll be catapulted along an aerial track that winds over sections of the theme park, including the multi-level escalator connecting the Upper and Lower Lots.

“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will be located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. Guests will enter an expansive, garage-like queue before boarding one of four ride vehicles, each meticulously designed to resemble the iconic cars from the Fast & Furious films. You can currently see a ride vehicle modeled after Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger on display at Universal Studios Hollywood.
