Meet the New Golden Trio: HBO Reveals Harry, Ron & Hermione for Upcoming Harry Potter Series
Accio cast reveal! HBO has officially unveiled the new faces of its highly anticipated Harry Potter television series — and the next generation of witches and wizards is ready to step into the robes of the iconic Golden Trio.
Say hello to Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. After a worldwide open casting call that saw over 30,000 hopefuls audition, these three young talents have emerged as the chosen ones to lead the new chapter of the Wizarding World.

A Magical Milestone for a New Generation
In a joint statement, showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer/director Mark Mylod shared their excitement:
“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen.”
No pressure, kids — you’re following in the footsteps of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, who famously brought the beloved trio to life in the original Warner Bros. film series. But with fresh energy and a full seven-season arc planned, this series promises to bring even deeper character exploration to J.K. Rowling’s bestselling novels.
A Starry Spell of Supporting Cast
Already announced as part of the magical ensemble:
- John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore
- Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall
- Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape
- Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid
- Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell
- Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch
With talent like this and a decade-long plan in place, HBO is going all-in on what it calls a “faithful adaptation” of the seven-book saga.

When and Where to Expect the Magic
Filming for the series is set to begin this summer, with a premiere window slated for late 2026 or early 2027 on HBO Max. The series is expected to span ten years, with each season tackling a single year at Hogwarts.
Whether you’re a longtime Potterhead or a new fan ready to board the Hogwarts Express for the first time, this reboot promises to enchant a whole new generation — with all the drama, danger, and dazzling charm of the original series… and maybe even a few new surprises.
