The Yacht & Beach Bakery Cast Members constructed the carousel from these ingredients:
- 1,200 pounds of rye flour
- 432 pounds of honey
- 100 pounds of eggs
- 25 pounds of spices
- 10 pounds of simple syrup
- 10 quarts of egg whites
- 200 pounds of icing
- 100 pounds of confectioner’s sugar
- 50 pounds of dark chocolate
- 20 pounds of Grand Marnier
- 200 gum paste flowers
A Festive Feast for the Eyes
The carousel, crafted by the talented Yacht and Beach Club bakery team, is a sight to behold. It features four horses on the rotating carousel and one stationary horse, each meticulously decorated to represent characters from “Mickey’s Christmas Carol.”
- Scrooge McDuck: A white horse with a gray mane and tail, adorned with a top hat, glasses, and a saddle filled with coins and bills.
- Ghost of Christmas Past (Jiminy Cricket): A green horse with a blue top hat and a black saddle decorated with plants and ornaments.
- Ghost of Christmas Present (Willie the Giant): An orange horse with a green crown and saddle, carrying a cornucopia overflowing with fruits and vegetables.
- Ghost of Christmas Future (Pete): A black horse with golden hooves, draped in a brown cloak and carrying Scrooge’s gravestone.
- Jacob Marley (Goofy): A blue horse with a blue scarf and a saddle resembling a rug, adorned with chains, coins, and a piggy bank.
The carousel’s roof is lined with white icing and Mickey-shaped cookies, while the base is decorated with red and white edible flowers. Hidden throughout the display are 24 tiny golden Mickeys, a nod to the carousel’s 24th anniversary.
