Baumkuchen translates to Baum (tree) and Kuchen (cake). It has 15 layers or rings that appear in the slices and resemble tree rings which gives it the name Tree Cake. Disney shared a video on Instagram showing the process to make the cake which seems quite labor-intensive!

“📣Foodie Alert📣Starting tomorrow, June 6, Connections Café at EPCOT will be offering delicious Baumkuchen – translated Baum (tree) Kuchen (cake). You will ❤️ this new treat with 15 layers of delicious goodness! ✨”
