Amber Heard files a counter to dismiss the verdict in her case with Johnny Depp.
According to the The Guardian, the 43-page filing says that the jury verdict, which found Heard liable on three claims of defamation, was unsupported by evidence presented. For example, Heard’s lawyers argue that Depp “presented no evidence that Ms. Heard did not believe she was abused.”
Next, Amber Heard’s lawyers make a claim of inadequate jury vetting since there seems there were discrepancies in the reported age of one juror.

Also, the filing states that the damages that were awarded to Depp were both “excessive” as well as “inconsistent and irreconcilable” with the jury’s verdict that both actors had defamed one another.
With the $10 Million judgment against Heard, plus a $2 Million judgment against Depp on a single count of defamation, now registered with the court, there appears little opportunity left for the parties to reach an out-of-court settlement.
