10-year-old Roman McConn of Evans, Georgia has spent the majority of his life rescuing dogs and helping them find a fur-ever home. He began his rescue journey at the early age of 4 and has helped over 4,200 dogs through the family’s non-profit organization Project Freedom Ride.

Roman’s story caught the attention of several outlets, and now Roman and his canine companions star in a new Disney series called “Roman to the Rescue” which is featured on Disney XD, DisneyNOW, and Hulu.

“After partnering with The Dodo in 2019 on the “Odd Couples” shorts, we leapt at the opportunity to work with them again on this exciting and heartwarming new series. We hope that our viewers will feel empowered by Roman to make positive influences in their own communities.” shared Executive Vice President, Content Research, Insights and Scheduling, Disney General Entertainment Jane Gould.

David Glauber of The Dodo added: “We’re thrilled to partner with Disney XD on ROMAN TO THE RESCUE and bring The Dodo’s heartwarming, inspiring stories about the human-animal connection to viewers. We are excited to continue creating family-friendly content that reaches young animal lovers and expands our massive audience of nearly 50M parents in the U.S.*

In ROMAN TO THE RESCUE, 10-year-old Roman McConn helps a new dog find an adoptive home in each episode. McConn has been doing rescue work for several years off camera, and was awarded the ASPCA “Kid of the Year” title in 2018. Each episode starts with Roman assessing the featured dog’s personality, and what kind of family would be a good match for the dog. Roman then invites a Disney Channel star (like Isaac Ryan Brown) or a social media influencer to help him make an adoption video for the show. They post the video to help the dog find its new family. Roman interviews the prospective dog-owning kid and decides if it seems like they’ll be a good fit. Adult real-life veterinarian Aziza Glass gives the dog a checkup, and then the dog boards a transport van to its new owners. Roman meets the dog at its new home and introduces the dog to its new fur-ever family.
