After the release of the expanded trailer and new poster during Super Bowl LVI for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, many Marvel fans were quick to analyze the footage and poster for new clues. Several fans claimed to see Deadpool hidden in the fragmented reality shards of the new poster. Several other nods and points of interest have been easily identified (such as Captain Carter’s shield from ‘What If…?‘) but many fans weren’t convinced the allusive Deadpool sighting was among hidden images.

Though we have learned to take celebrity statements with a grain of salt in the MCU, actor Ryan Reynolds is insistent that he (and subsequently Deadpool) will not be making his MCU debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
During an interview with Variety, Ryan Reynolds was asked if the rumors were true and he responded “I’m really not in the movie.” When pressed further Ryan insisted, “I’m promising, I’m not in the movie.” He also shared that Deadpool 3 is “coming along,” but didn’t elaborate further.
