Sometimes the snack choices at Walt Disney World can be a bit overwhelming. It can be helpful to go back to the basics. Every now and again, the simple treats, executed to perfection, are the ones to try. That can certainly be said about the Holiday Macaron in Epcot.
L’Artisan Des Glaces serves ice creams of many flavors, but the truly special item in the case is the Ice Cream Macaron. The flavors get swapped out seasonally. Fall usually brings Pumpkin Spice, sometime during the summer Raspberry appears, and at any time of the year you may find chocolate. But December and Christmas time bring a particularly refreshing macaron to the store. Sandwiched between crisp red and green macaron biscuits is mint ice cream. A light and wintery taste that doesn’t compete with any overly sweet cookies or toppings, the ice cream only melts to fill in the cracks. Perfect for after a lot of heavy theme park eating!
The Holiday Ice Cream Macaron costs only $5 at L’Artisan Des Glaces, the French ice cream shop in Epcot. If that doesn’t entice you, they have plenty of other options. Try a handcrafted Croque Glacé, a hot pressed Brioche with ice cream and the topping of your choice in the center. Or for the adults in your travel party, maybe have an Ice Cream Martini, which has two scoops of ice cream and a shot of Grand Marnier, Whipped Cream Vodka or Rum.
Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong at L’Artisan Des Glaces! But we recommend the Holiday Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s delicious and will only be around for a limited time!
