Vin Diesel to Return as Groot in 'Thor: Love and Thunder'

Vin Diesel to Return as Groot in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘. Production is underway in Australia for Thor: Love and Thunder and it seems we will get to see the “Asguardians of the Galaxy” together again! Earlier this month it was confirmed Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) had been added to the cast and would be making his way to the Land Down Under at the beginning of the New Year. Pratt won’t be the only member of the Guardians to make an appearance in the film!

Australian paparazzi and scooper Kobie Thatcher shared a video of Guardians of the Galaxy actor Vin Diesel disembarking a private jet in Sydney while covered with umbrellas by an entourage. It is heavily believed that this means Diesel will also be returning to his MCU role for the upcoming Thor film and joining the cast. The video is a fair bit of evidence as Diesel is not currently scheduled to film any other titles in Australia at the moment and the timing seems too perfect for this to just be a coincidence. The news shouldn’t come as a major surprise to Marvel fans due to Diesel letting slip that some of the Guardians would be making an appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder, but it does warrant the question, “Who else will we get to see in the upcoming sequel?”

It is currently unknown what the premise of the film will entail, but we do know that Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) will become ‘The Mighty Thor’ and we will get to see Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) in her new role as King of Asgard. Also rumored to take place in the film is Thor (Chris Hemsworth) receiving the Odinforce, but this detail has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios despite exploration into that story arc in a delete scene of Thor: Ragnarok. Also confirmed by Tessa Thompson is the addition of Christian Bale as the films undisclosed villain.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently set to release in theaters February 11th, 2022. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co, for all things Marvel!
