While the Disney Cruise Line is still “closed”, Disney has confirmed maiden voyage dates for the three new ships joining the fleet.
Currently, there are four cruise ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet; the Magic, Wonder, Dream, and Fantasy. There are three new ships in the plans that will launch in the coming years.
We know the Disney Wish will be the first of the new ships. The Wish is scheduled to take its maiden voyage in the summer of 2022. During the recent Disney Q4 earnings call, Bob Chapek confirmed the maiden voyage dates for both of the Wish’s sister ships.
Chapek said:
“We’re anticipating delivering our first new ship, the Wish in the summer of ’22 and then we have our next two ships in ’24 and ’25. And, so, after a slight delay of roughly six months on those, we think that we’re going to be able to bring them into service.
We hope and expect that the world will be back to normal by then and anticipate having a fine time trying to fill up the demand of those ships.”
The names and other details of the other two ships have not been announced.
The CDC has lifted the No Sail Order and has given cruise lines guidelines to resume sailing. Hopefully, Disney Cruise Line will be able to resume sailing soon!
