On World Energy Day, Disneyland Paris announced the phased development of one of the largest solar canopy plants in Europe. The project is at the resort’s main guest parking lot. Urbasolar is the French company installing the solar plant project at Disneyland Paris.
Since 2018, Disneyland Paris have been participating in the Affichage Environnemental initiative. The project is aiming for a significant reduction in GHG emissions and a full decarbonization of its energy supply. The plan is to install 67,500 solar panels on 42 acres of land at Disneyland Paris. The solar energy will provide about 17% of the resort’s energy consumption.

It’ll be fun to see at night! Especially since a section of it will light up at night in the shape of a Mickey Mouse head. This Mickey will be visible from the sky.
Construction began in July at Disneyland Paris. The project will be complete in 2023, with a first milestone for the first phase in Spring 2021.
