Adam Sandler Dedicates ‘Hubie Halloween‘ to the Memory of Cameron Boyce. Recently, Adam Sandler made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and though the actor tends to keep it lighthearted and comical during appearances, Sandler did share a touching tribute to his late Grown-Ups co-star, Cameron Boyce. Shortly after the talk show appearance, Sandler’s latest film Hubie Halloween premiered on Netflix on October 7th and included a tribute to the memory Cameron Boyce in the films post credits.
The films synopsis shares, “It’s October 31st in Salem, Massachusetts, and a town’s eccentric, devoted community volunteer and the good-natured object of his fellow citizen’s derision and meanest pranks, finds himself in the midst of a real investigation, for a real murderer.”
The tribute featured a photo of Boyce smiling to something or someone off camera along with the caption, “In loving memory of Cameron Boyce. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”
Cameron Boyce passed away in his sleep from complications with epilepsy in July 2019. The Disney Channel star was featured in the Descendants Trilogy, Jessie, and Bunk’d. He starred alongside Adam Sandler in both Grown-Ups and Grown-Ups 2.
Boyce’s family spoke with Good Morning America (GMA) after his untimely death, sharing, “He didn’t want his epilepsy to define him, either,” Libby Boyce said. “He loved life. He was kind of in a place — this is for me the hardest thing — he was in a place where he was truly happy. Cameron was always happy, never a negative thing came out of his mouth, never. But he was just really finding his groove… He was really getting into the charity stuff, really getting into what he wanted to do with his voice, which is what we always told him to do. Use your voice, use it to make positive in the world. And that’s what he was starting to do.”
“The night he passed away, we were out to dinner with him, just hours before. It was a completely normal, beautiful family night out to dinner,” Victor Boyce told Good Morning America last year. “There was no indication that anything was wrong. I mean, there’s no way to know in hours my son would be dead. It was just staggeringly crazy and horrible. We were texting that night.”
Hubie Halloween is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
