Jelly Belly Founder Announces Real Life 'Willy Wonka' Golden Ticket Hunt

Jelly Belly Founder Announces Real Life ‘Willy Wonka‘ Golden Ticket Hunt. It’s every kids, and most adults, dream come true! You can be the next key holder of a real life candy factory! David Klein aka “The Candyman”, has announced that he is hosting a “Gold Ticket” competition with a large cash prize of $5,000 USD and a key to a Candyman Kitchen Candy Factory.

***Please be advised: David Klein is not giving away a Jelly Belly Factory, Jelly Belly has released this statement to clear up any confusion:

Due to confusion in the marketplace, Jelly Belly Candy Company would like to take this opportunity to clear up the misconception that it is involved with a contest that purportedly offers a candy factory as its grand prize. Jelly Belly Candy Company, formerly known as Herman Goelitz Candy Company, has candy making roots back to 1869.  It was founded by brothers Gustav and Albert Goelitz and remains family owned and operated today.

David Klein, the sponsor of the “treasure hunt” contest gaining attention within the media this weekend, is not associated with Jelly Belly Candy Company, its brands, or products. In 1976, Mr. Klein, an independent third party, came up with the name “Jelly Belly” and other novel marketing ideas.  Jelly Belly Candy Company has not had a relationship with Mr. Klein since 1980 when it acquired the trademark.”

“We’ve already hidden quite a few of them (Gold Tickets),” Klein said. “We’re going to be hiding them in every state across the country.”

“David Klein “The Candyman” and his partner Stephanie are hiding Gold Tickets nationwide. Once every state has had a chance to join a Treasure Hunt, each person who entered one will be eligible to search The Ultimate Treasure Hunt which will get the winner the key to his candy factory (the building), he also will pay for a candy making class. Of course you are welcome to sell it for the money…but he’d welcome the chance to give you some of his 55 years in the candy business advice.”

“With The Gold Ticket Treasure Hunt, our goal is to get people out and about with their families. Grandma and Grandpa can even join with the kids and grandkids,” Klein said. “Take videos of your treasure hunt experiences for possible inclusion in our upcoming series. We’re gonna have the ultimate treasure hunt where the winner will be receiving a key — a key to one of our candy factories,” Klein shares. “We’re looking for you, Charlie, out there.”
