‘Kraven The Hunter’ Marvel Movie in the Works at Sony Pictures, J.C. Chandor to Direct. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Sony Pictures is on the hunt for the cast of an upcoming ‘Kraven The Hunter’ film currently in development at the studio. The report shared that Director J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier) is “in talks” with Sony to direct the featured film. Chandor would direct under producers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad, with Art Marcum and Matt Holloway having penned the script.
It is still believed that Kraven will make his debut as the next villain to face Spider-Man in the currently untitled Spider-Man 3 starring Tom Holland, which means Kraven could become one of the first characters to cross between the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) of Marvel Studios and the Spider-Man Universe of Sony Pictures. We already saw this happen once with Michael Keaton, who portrayed Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but is set to appear once again as Vulture in Sony’s Morbius. Reportedly, Joel Kinnaman is in the running to portray the fiendish foe, Kraven The Hunter.
Spider-Man star, Tom Holland, mentioned earlier this year that he hopes to wrap filming for the untitled Spider-Man 3 film by “February of next year” with production reportedly getting set to resume after the abrupt closure of the studios back in March of 2020 due to the pandemic. Currently, Tom Holland and Zendaya are slotted to reprise their roles as Peter Parker and MJ.
