AMC Theatres Temporarily Closing to Combat Coronavirus Outbreaks

AMC Theatres Temporarily Closing to Combat Coronavirus Outbreaks. AMC Theatres joins the ranks of businesses closing their doors to help prevent the spread of coronavirus worldwide. The popular theatre chain shared, “In compliance with local, state, and federal [Covid-19] directives, all [AMC Theatres] locations are now closed for at least 6-12 weeks. AMC Stubs A-List memberships will be paused automatically during the time AMC Theatres are closed.”

When visiting the AMC Theatres website an alert banner pops up at the top of the page stating: “All AMC Theatres are temporarily closed in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. They will re-open when those guidelines allow.”
Though AMC states they will remain closed for a minimum of 6-12 weeks, it is currently unknown exactly when the chain will re-open theatres around the world. Theater closures have forced postponement for theatrical releases of several big titles including Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan and Marvel Studios’ Black Widow.
Most films currently in the works are at a stand still until production is greenlit to resume, likely pushing release dates back several months, if not a year or two depending on the title. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates on AMC Theatres and for all things related to Disney Springs!
