We’ve seen a lot of change at Disney Hollywood Studios over the past few years. Several attractions closed to make way for new experiences. For instance, The Great Movie Ride being converted into Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Plus, two wonderful themed lands — Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — have been added to the park for guests to enjoy. But what else could be coming to Disney Hollywood Studios in the future? Even though no future plans are confirmed, some are thinking a Pixar Place expansion is coming.
Disney enjoyed success with Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure. The themed area was met with critical acclaim. Now a similarly themed land is rumored to be in the future for Disney World. Disney Hollywood Studios currently has a significant amount of Pixar-based attractions and entertainment. We’ve seen characters from Incredibles, Monsters Inc, and Cars added to the theme park, but most are just temporary forms of entertainment. Speculators think it’s a testing phase to see what future attractions should be added with Pixar characters.
An ideal place for a Pixar Place expansion would be Animation Courtyard. Disney could connect the pathway between the Animation Courtyard and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with Pixar attractions if they were to renovate the area. Of course, it’s only a rumor for now and we don’t expect any changes happening soon. But the thought of seeing more Pixar content at Walt Disney World is exciting to fans! It’ll be interesting to see what kinds of changes will be announced in the future.
