Jonathan Kasdan Confirms ‘Willow’ Series Is On The Way To Disney+. The 1988 cult classic film is getting a new series on Disney+ and pre-production has officially begun, according to the new series writer Jon Kasdan.
The news was shared in a humble and short tweet from Kasdan with a photo of a hat pinned to a cork board inside an office with the caption, “The office is open.”

The original film followed the story of Willow, “a reluctant farmer who plays a critical role in protecting a special baby from a tyrannical queen who vows to destroy her and take over the world in a high fantasy setting.”
It is currently unknown if any original cast or crew members will come to reprise their roles. The focus of the plot is also a mystery at this time and we are unsure if the series will focus on Willow himself, or possibly focus on the infant Willow saved, Elora Danan, and the events of the Shadow War as showcased in the trilogy of books that followed the release of the film by Lucasfilm.
