Disney Flex Passport coming to Disneyland Resort

Disneyland new annual pass flex pass

Disneyland Resort is introducing the Disney Flex Passport, a new Annual Passport!

What is it?

Starting May 21, you can purchase the Disney Flex Passport; which offers multiple ways to visit Disneyland Resort in Southern California. Flex Annual Passholders will have the opportunity to access one or both Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park on select GREEN good-to-go days (mainly on off-peak days). Flex passholders will need to make an advance reservation using the Disneyland website or app for select BLUE days. There will be limited GRAY blockout days, which means that’s a no go with this annual pass.

A limited number of reservations will be available each day . Due to capacity, closures or other factors theme park admission and access to experiences and services may be restricted or unavailable.  Admission excludes seperately ticketed activities and events.

You can hold two reservation days up to 30 days in advance with the new passport, while also enjoying good-to-go days. You can still make reservations on the day of your visit if they are still available. Passholders can add up to eight people to your reservation, as long as they are connected to your Disney account.

The online passholder calendar will show when reservations are full for individual dates. But cancellations could cause full dates to reopen at any time. You may be able to scoop up last minute cancellations at 11:59 p.m. the night before.

If pass holders no show, they will be penalized for not canceling their reservations at least a day in advance. After three no shows, Flex passholders will find their existing reservations canceled and a hold put on new reservations. You’ll have to talk with a Disney agent to be able to make reservations again.

Why A New Annual Pass?

The opening of  Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on May 31 at Disneyland, and a new Super Hero-themed land in Disney California Adventure park in 2020 are both expected to have a major impact on the crowd levels inside the park. This annual pass will provide Disney more control over crowd management. The goal is to smooth demand that varies throughout the year based on school schedules, seasonal events, and annual passholder block-out dates.

Cost

Disney Flex annual pass goes on sale May 21 and will cost $599, Disneyland officials announced. A monthly payment plan for California residents, 18 years or older with valid ID, will be available. The Disney Flex Passport also includes benefits such as dining and merchandise discounts.

  1. That’s a lot of work to go to the park. I just hope that people know the research to go on those dates and not plan their trip but can’t get into the parks (I’ve seen it happen before). #DisneyVacayGiveaway

  2. This is a smart way to keep crowds at a minimum, to make the experience more enjoyable for all guests! While it may get annoying to make reservations & not be able to enter the parks on certain days, I think people would greatly appreciate the new system especially when Star Wars Galaxy Edge opens. #DisneyVacayGiveaway
