As we get closer to Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021, more and more changes are showing up around the parks. Epcot is taking on a serious overhaul currently. Construction continues to progress in the France Pavilion where the building, home to the new Ratatouille ride continues to expand.
Once completed, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will feature a trackless 3D dark ride. Today, this ride operates in Disneyland Paris, and it was announced last year it would be added to Walt Disney World in time for the 50th-anniversary celebrations.
The exterior of the attraction is designed after Gusteau’s restaurant, with the rest of the building resembling the Parisian plaza. After queuing on the rooftops of Paris, the fun begins. As a guest, you will shrink down to the size of a rat and board your “ratmobiles”. While on the roof of Gusteau’s, Remy and Chef Guseteau try to decide what meal to serve you. After falling through the ceiling to the kitchen floor, the chase is on. I won’t spoil all of it for you, but good luck in the chase!!
The trackless system isn’t new to Disney. Currently, it’s the same ride concept being used in Pooh’s Honey Hunt at Tokyo, Disneyland, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters at Disney California Adventure.
Current estimates have the ride slated to open Spring 2020. The exterior construction is becoming more visible especially for guests near the International Gateway entrance and exit. It’s much clearer to see the size the structure now vs just a few months ago.
Remy isn’t the only new attraction coming to the France Pavilion. Coming soon, no official date has been released, is a Beauty and the Beast sing-along.
I’m excited about the changes and enhancements coming to Epcot in the next couple of years. It’s a park that really does need some extra T.L.C, but once everything is complete, it’s really going to shine.
I would love to hear what your favorite country is and what you think about all the changes coming to Epcot. Do you have a favorite country or favorite food to eat when you visit? Our family favorite is the fish and chips in England. Every visit to Epcot requires at least one meal be fish and chips. Mexico comes in a close second. If you haven’t had the chips and guac or a margarita from Mexico, add them to your list. All of the countries really do a great job.
