The walkthrough of the iconic landmark of Disneyland is officially closed for refurbishment. Walls now surround the beautiful Sleeping Beauty castle and will remain for several months.
The Sleeping Beauty Castle is different from its counterpart in Walt Disney World. It typically gives guests the ability to walk through and get a glimpse at castle life. During the construction, however, guests are being instructed to use the Big Thunder Trail or Parade Route along the Matterhorn to head back to Fantasyland.
Sleeping Beauty Castle will have exterior and interior work done. There is no official reopening date; we’ve only been told “Spring 2019.”
Refurbishments can be disappointing, especially when they occur during your trip. Don’t fret – there is still plenty of fun to be had at the Disneyland Resort this winter! Have you checked out the new attractions on Pixar Pier? Refurbishments are necessary to maintain the structure and integrity of attractions, and we are excited to see the new castle unveiled later this year! Plan your trip for 2019 today!
