Haunted Mansion Closes at Disneyland for Holiday Transformation
Sandy Claws is officially taking over New Orleans Square! The classic Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Park has closed its wrought-iron gates to prepare for its annual seasonal transformation into Haunted Mansion Holiday.
When the attraction reopens, guests will step into a collision of two beloved holidays as Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, and the rest of the gang from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas take up residence inside the mansion once again.
For guests visiting Disneyland Park, temporary green scrims and themed barricades have been placed in front of the main entrance gates to block views into the courtyard while Imagineers and crew members install the extensive overlay.
A specially themed sign featuring Jack Skellington hanging on the gates reads:
“Sandy Claws is busy decking these haunted halls. Please join us for a frightfully good time after August 21. Season’s screamings!”
Standard attraction signage is also positioned outside to alert parkgoers that the ride is temporarily unavailable while the ghost host makes way for Pumpkin King festivities.
Fans won’t have to wait very long for the transformation to be complete! Haunted Mansion Holiday will officially open to guests on Friday, August 21.
Once open, the festive, eerie overlay will remain operational through both the Halloween and Christmas seasons before closing in early January 2027 to revert back to the original, classic attraction.
From the glowing jack-o’-lanterns adornments throughout the queue and main house to the giant, real gingerbread house featured in the iconic ballroom scene, Haunted Mansion Holiday remains one of the absolute highlights of the fall and winter seasons at the Disneyland Resort.
