A Guest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was Handed an Abandoned Newborn Baby. We have just found news that a guest at the Animal Kingdom Lodge was surrendered a newborn abandoned baby. Click Orlando is reporting the following:
“A guest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was handed a newborn baby by an unknown woman early Sunday morning, according to officials from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the woman was handed the child around 2 a.m. while she was outside the resort, which is located at 3701 Osceola Parkway. The guest walked into the lobby and reported that a woman she did not know had handed her the newborn, according to authorities. Officials said the baby was taken to Celebration Hospital in good health. ”

***UPDATE***
The Orange County Sheriffs have now updated stating the baby’s mother was located and taken in for treatment.
Investigators determined the woman who came into the resort’s lobby is the child’s mother, according to Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Jeff Williamson.
Detectives have located the woman and interviewed her. She has been transported to a facility “for evaluation and treatment,” according to the Sheriff’s Office. Florida’s Safe Haven law allows a parent to drop off a newborn at any fire station or hospital in the state, no questions asked.
