If you’ve paid a visit to Epcot, you may have noticed the Odyssey Center which sits along the waterway between Test Track and the Mexican Pavilion in the World Showcase. Historically Odyssey has played host to exhibits during Epcot’s yearly festivals like the International. Food & Wine Festival and the Festival of the Arts. However, the building is remaining closed during the International Flower & Garden Festival and thanks to a piece in the Orlando Sentinel we are a bit closer to understanding why.
According to the piece the building is getting a makeover that will create a more flexible space opening up the possibility of the Odyssey hosting a variety of different functions and fulfilling different purposes as Epcot continues to evolve. Possible functions could include workshop space, merchandising location or even a makeshift restaurant.
One of the initial steps taken was to remove the dark glass the makes up the large windows found at the Odyssey and to replace them with glass that makes it easier for guests to enjoy beautiful views of both Future World and the World Showcase.
This is just the start of amazing changes coming to Epcot in the months and years ahead that include a Ratatouille ride at the France Pavilion, a Guardians of the Galaxy coaster and a new space-themed restaurant located next to Mission: SPACE.
