2011 Star Wars Weekends Merchandise

With the opening of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Star Wars Weekends 2011 at Disney Hollywood Studios has a larger footprint than ever before.  The Hyperspace Hoopla has moved to the sorcerer hat stage, and special event merchandise has found a new home in a huge tent located in the courtyard beyond the Rock-n-Roller Coaster.

This new merchandise location, dubbed Jabba’s Hutt, provides a general shopping area dedicated to event merchandise as well as the usual queue for limited edition items.  New this year is a special meet and greet area that offers character encounters with C3P0, R2-D2, Luke, and Leia.

A wide variety of items are offered for sale, including Disney/Star Wars themed art, ranging from $35 matted prints to original paintings priced at over $4,000.  Pins abound, including 2 limited edition pin sets, one displaying passports for Star Wars characters and the other destination posters for Star tours.  Passholder exclusive merchandise is also available including t-shirts, pins, and cups.

Jabba’s Hutt also offers previews of Star Wars merchandise available for pre-order, such as the special figures created for the event, which a sign claims are available for preorder through the Art of Disney Parks website and merchandise that will be available later this year, such as a muppet figure set and a new Disney Star Wars figure set including familiar Disney characters as bounty hunters.

Special items like a limited selection of Ashley Eckstein’s Her Universe shirts and the DK Star Wars Blueprints: Rebel edition book are also available, and their creators and authors are appearing at scheduled times to personalize the merchandise for guests.
