Orlando Theme Park Accident & Injury Report for the 2nd Quarter of 2016

The Orlando Theme Park Accident & Injury Report for the second quarter is in, this is where the parks report any incidents that happen on rides or result in hospital stay of more than 24 hours, or death.

The results are as followed:

Walt Disney World had 10 injuries or illnesses, Universal Studios reported 5, SeaWorld had 1 and LegoLand, Bush Gardens and Wet and Wild had none.


Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

  • Rock n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – a 26 year old man had back and leg pain and said he felt lightheaded, he had to have heart surgery later. Also on the roller coaster a 50-year-old man felt nauseous.
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – an 18-year-old man felt chest pain and numbness in his arm after riding, there was a pre-existing health condition

Disney’s Magic Kingdom

  • Walt Disney World Railroad – a 41-year-old man felt ill and began shaking after riding.
  • Space Mountain –  a 46-year-old woman felt ill, dizzy and disoriented while riding.
  • Haunted Mansion – A 70-year-old woman became dizzy on the ride, she had a pre-existing condition.
  • Tomorrowland Speedway – A 67-year-old man felt sick after exiting the ride, there was a pre-existing health condition.

Epcot

  • Spaceship Earth –  a 69-year-old woman fell and fractured her leg while boarding the ride.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

  • Kilimanjaro Safaris – a 70-year-old man felt ill and had neck discomfort, there was a pre-existing condition.

Typhoon Lagoon

  • Typhoon Lagoon surf pool – A 65-year-old woman injured her knee while in the pool

Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure

  • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – a 50-year-old woman fainted and a 59-year-old man suffered motion sickness during the ride.
  • Dragon Challenge – a 46-year-old woman felt neck pain while on the ride

Universal Studios Florida

  • Fievels Playland – a 3-year-old had arm pain while at the play area
  • Men in Black Alien Attack – a 46-year-old man with a pre-existing condition had a seizure while on the ride

SeaWorld

  • SeaWorld’s Manta – a 54-year-old man felt chest pain and shortness of breath while on the ride

  1. Most of these are minor, but being a former cast member, I know how stressful it is when something like this happens. Hope all of them were alright.
