As Be Our Guest inches it’s way to it’s 2 year Anniversary this December, the Be Our Guest Restaurant is now changing the rules yet again with a few updates to their Quick Service Lunch option which is now available only to Guests who received a FastPass+ invitation for Quick Serving dining in this stunning storybook experience.
What Does This Mean for Guests?
This is bad news if you’re planning an upcoming trip to the Magic Kingdom Theme Park in hopes for “walk-in” seating to Fantasyland’s notorious Be Our Guest Restaurant for a Quick Service Lunch in the Park. If you are planning an upcoming visit to this restaurant without the FastPass+ invitation then you may need a Plan B.
- FastPass+ Invitations are randomly distributed out to Guests with upcoming reservations at the Walt Disney World Resort
- Only Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort are eligible to receive the FastPass+ invitation
- FastPass+ Invitations are sent via email prior to your arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort
Is this a permanent change?
We cannot say for sure. Disney may only be testing this new FastPass+ only system.
What are my options?
Currently you may no longer walk-in to Be Our Guest Restaurant without a FastPass+ reservation. This means as of right now there are no options for standing in line or waiting for an open table, this restaurant is accessible by reservations only. (At least for now) Please stay tuned for updates on this developing situation.
What if I have a FastPass+ Invitation?
This is yet another great reason to make sure and take advantage of this rare and amazing experience of receiving the Be Our Guest FastPass+ invitation for your upcoming trip.
For now Be Our Guest Quick Service Lunch option still remains Disney Dining Plan eligible for one (1) Quick Service credit per person, per meal.
Be sure to stay tuned for updates.

I heard the walk-in line is only open from 10-10:30 am and 2-2:30 pm. And I’ve heard that even if you get the invitation, there’s not much availability.
Now people can still walk in but come December they will no longer be able to!
That sucks if it’s right….I may just have to take a “mental health day” from work and see if I can walk in at lunchtime! As a Premium AP holder who almost never stays onsite (why should I – I live an hour away), this would completely change my options about where to eat when I go to MK…..
What’s your source for this information? From comments, it appears to be incorrect. Please update and provide sources.
I was upset enough to express my displeasure to Guest Relations. They deny that they no longer take walk-ins. Here’s the response from Guest Relations:
Dear Denny,
Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.
Thank you for being an annual passholder! I can personally assure you
that Be Our Guest is still accepting walk-in guests for lunch having
visited recently myself. There is a FastPass+ lunch for randomly
selected Disney resort guests, but that has no operational effect on
our walk-in guests.
If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Albert Wagner

We’ve eaten lunch and dinner at BOG, and it’s no big deal. We like many other places more. This new plan will save us some time.
Frustrating. Two years of staying at the Boardwalk Resort and still can’t get in to experience this restaurant – not last year or our upcoming November trip. I wake up early to get dinner dining reservations as soon as I’m eligible and two years in a row it’s been booked the entire 10 days we are there the moment reservations become eligible to me. Now I have no chance getting in for lunch, either. Apparently staying at a resort doesn’t guarantee a chance to try it, either.
it’s not true..I walked in yesterday!
I hate this as I’m an AP holder and only live 2 hours away so I don’t ever stay at the resorts so I’ll never be able to eat at BOG again. Disney dropped the ball on this one. I spent so much money on my AP I shouldn’t be punished for not staying at a resort just doesn’t make sense for us to spend the money.
