Are you familiar with Disney’s PhotoPass+? On our last Walt Disney World trip my family stepped it up and tried out the new PhotoPass+ option. What did we think? PhotoPass+ is a great addition to our Disney trips and worth every penny! There are a ton of benefits of adding PhotoPass+ to your upcoming Disney vacation. Some of the benefits included in Disney’s PhotoPass+ are:
- Preorder the PhotoPass+ package 14 days prior to your trip for $149 versus the $199.95 price tag in the parks! (Plus tax where applicable.)
- Disney PhotoPass+ card and lanyard
- A gallery CD with more than 400 Walt Disney World Resort stock photos
- A unique code for DisneyPhotoPass.com that allows you to create and order a PhotoCD containing all your photos taken up to 14 days during visit to the Walt Disney World Resort
- Photos taken at select dining locations (1900 Park Fare, breakfast at O’hana, Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Chef Mickey’s, Cinderella’s Royal Table, breakfast at Tusker House, Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, and Akershus Princess Storybook Dining)
- Digital downloads of select attractions (Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest and Dinosaur)
- Photos from other Disney experiences (Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique*, Pirates League*, Storytime with Belle, Jedi Training Academy)
- The ability to customize your photos with fun Disney borders
- MagicShot photos
*Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Pirate’s League experience require additional fees.
Do all those benefits sound swell, but you’re not sure yet whether or not you should add PhotoPass+ on to your package or just use your regular camera? Here are five reasons to add PhotoPass+ to your next Disney trip:
1. Everyone is in the picture! How many times have mom or dad been behind the camera instead of in front of it during your vacation photos? Change that. Now. Let a skilled PhotoPass photographer capture your whole family!
2. Avoid the hassle of purchasing photo packages at character dining locations for $30 each! Instead have a PhotoPass attendant kindly hand you your print photo package and a code to add it to your online account without any sales pitch! The PhotoPass+ lanyard works magic!
3. Ride photos galore! Tweens, teens and kids of all ages love ride photos! Whether your 13 year old rode Expedition Everest for the 5th time in a row with the same pose and insists on the picture or there’s a serious battle on Buzz Lightyear, you’re covered without paying $15 a picture!
4. Access to all your pictures for years to come! Whether you like to scrapbook or just want to share the pictures with family and friends online, having a CD of professional images from your vacation is a huge perk!
5. More fun! With extra magic shots and fun borders your vacation photos are sure to be spruced up to the nines making the memories come alive for years to come!
What is your favorite PhotoPass+ feature? Will you be adding it on your next vacation?

Helpful article! We bought the Photopass last year afterwards, so we paid much more. Even though we’d used the photopass before, this article really helped with details that I didn’t know! Thank you!
In January we had our pics taken with the Beast in the Library and the photopass person was there to put it on our card.
It is for one person, but you can get multiple photopass cards and add them to your account. Only one person gets the photopass+ card with the lanyard. You need the pass+ card to get the ride and meal photos, but not the standard character photos. We always split a pass with the people we travel with, then everyone gets the CD with all the photos.
Does anyone know if they are including the pictures taken with the Beast at the new Be Our Guest Restaurant on the PP+? I know that this restaurant is fairly new so that it may not be officially listed yet. I was hoping that someone could answer my question from person experience. We buy the PP+ every year & love, love it!!! Some of the pictures may not be the best, but we just stop for a ton of photo ops & we end up with some really good ones in the end. It is just such a neat idea so that people can keep & share all of their Disney memories. Now if I could just talk Disney into offering this same PP deal on their cruises.
Yes, it includes all family members, but you just get one actual pass. My husband and I would have to switch it back and forth when we took turns on rides so we could get them put on it. Its so much simpler than it sounds. Definitely get it before your trip, so its cheaper. You will get a voucher & you take it to the photopass store or kiosk & you’re set!
Another great thing about it is that lines go much quicker when you have one! All you do is hand it to the cast member right before you meet a character and all you have to do is walk up, get autographs, be silly, and then get a group shot! They got tons of my son actually meeting the characters, which I did not realize they would do. I literally did not use my camera once for the things they covered. We were in and out without having to stop 50 times so everyone could get a picture with each character. (this happened a million times to people in front of us, and we kept saying, “this line would go faster if everyone had the photopass…”) As a photographer, it is great to actually be in the photos for once! Best money spent, by far! Can’t imagine not getting it on our trip in 2015 & we just got back last week 😉
It can cover as many people as you can line up in front of the camera! If you have a large family group everyone can be in the pictures you’ll just only get one CD
Thanks for the details!
I’m all over this!! 2015 here I come!!
I would assume it’s everyone in the package…so if you have five people, I’d think they’d all get the pass, but I haven’t been yet so I don’t know for sure.
How many people does the photo pass include? Just one?
