4-year-old Boy with Autism Loves to Wear Dresses Befriends Disneyland Characters

The internet is going wild for a 4-year-old boy with Autism who loves to wear dresses and befriended many Disneyland characters. Four-year-old Evan McLeod’s love for Disney is inspired by his mum Eeka Rocha McLeod and together they visit Disneyland every week!

Ms McLeod told CBS News, that Evan is adopted from foster care, as his birth mother was addicted to drugs and so Evan was born prematurely. In addition to his Autism diagnosis, Evan was also diagnosed with microcephaly and “global developmental delays”. Ms McLeod also said that his muscles are “weak” and he “struggles with speech and he’s only begun talking recently”.

Since the family visit Disneyland frequently, many cast members knows Evan “well”. Evan’s mum shares the beautiful interactions on their Instagram page. Evan has befriended “several princesses” who love to hold his hand and walk together, he often twirls and dances with the Princesses too!

Not only is Evan’s mohawk signature and easy to spot but 4-year-old-boy Evan who has Autism also adores wear dresses. According to his mum, he first requested to wear a dress in June, when Ms McLeod offered him “the knights’ outfit and he was adamant that he wanted Snow White”. Ever since then, Evan has worn dresses to the park!

Whilst the post above shows that some other guests have struggled with her decision to let him wear dresses. She advocates for children’s differences to be accepted. She wrote that “Evan’s way of thinking and behaving wasn’t so different from most children”. For Ms McLeod, Evan is just great and the only real difference is that “he tosses a whole lotta FABULOUS into everything he does”. The beauty of Disneyland is that the characters do not judge or shun him for his dress sense!

Ms McLeod believes that “every single character and cast member interaction has played a pivotal role in his development” and continues to take her three kids, all who have special needs to Disneyland every week!

A Disney lover from across the pond (England). If I'm not in the parks, I'm dreaming of my next trip. My favourite Disney character is Simba and my favourite Disney ride would have to be Space Mountain!
