Whataburger Sets August Opening Date for New Orlando Restaurant

Whataburger is officially making its Orlando comeback, and burger fans will not have to wait much longer to get their hands on those familiar orange-and-white striped favorites. The Texas-based chain will open its new restaurant at 12305 East Colonial Drive on August 6, bringing its made-to-order burgers, breakfast, shakes, and desserts back to Central Florida.

Opening day service begins at 11 a.m., and Whataburger is planning plenty of festivities to celebrate its return. The first two guests in the walk-up line and the first two vehicles in the drive-thru will each receive free Whataburger for a year. The first 80 people in line and the first 20 cars in the drive-thru will also receive exclusive merchandise while supplies last.

Guests waiting for the doors to open can also expect giveaways and samples of select menu items, including the seasonal Summer Peach Whatafresher. After opening day, the restaurant will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with both dine-in and drive-thru service. Mobile ordering through the Whataburger app and website is expected to become available in the weeks following the opening.

Whataburger previously operated several Central Florida restaurants before leaving the area in 2009. The new Orlando location is part of the chain’s growing Florida expansion, which also includes three recently opened Tampa Bay restaurants and two locations planned for the Fort Myers area this fall.
