‘WandaVision’ Passed Over at Primetime Emmy Awards Ceremony Despite 5 Nominations. The cast and crew of WandaVision earned three Emmys for the creative arts which included:

  • Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes
  • Outstanding Production Design
  • Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “Agatha All Along”

Yet the series stars and production leads were snubbed at the primetime award ceremony on Sunday, Sept 19th despite having nominations for Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series, Best Limited or Anthology Series, Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series, Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series, Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series.

This is not the first time Marvel Studios has been snubbed at notable awards shows. Most major awards won by the famed studio have been strictly for Costuming, Sound & Light, and VFX categories, with the occasional nomination for performances by the casts or production heads that rarely pan out with a win. Regardless of the outcome, this has not changed the support from Marvel fans who have come out in droves online to support the cast and crew.

The only big winner for Disney during the primetime event was the smashing hit musical ‘Hamilton‘. Hamilton was not however the only Emmy winner for the company throughout all three Emmy Award ceremonies, with Disney earning Emmys for the creative arts for WandaVision, The Mandalorian, Black is King, The Oscars, Secrets of the Whales, and Hamilton earlier this week.
