The new policy will replace travel bans that restrict travel by non-citizens who have in the prior 14 days been in the United Kingdom, European Union, China, India, Iran, Republic of Ireland, Brazil or South Africa. There will be some exceptions to the new policy, including for children who are not eligible to be vaccinated.

While the restrictions on non-US citizens is being loosened, Biden is tightening testing rules for unvaccinated Americans. U.S. citizens will need to be tested within a day before returning to the U.S., as well as after they arrive home.
