As part of its expansion in the unscripted arena, ABC Family announced today that it has picked up a new docu-series “My Transparent Life” direct to series from Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP).
The groundbreaking new reality series “My Transparent Life” centers on a teenager named Ben who learns his parents are not only getting a divorce but also that his dad is becoming a woman. The series will follow Ben, his family and his friends as they support one another through this unexpected journey and watch Charlie slowly become Carly, as she experiences the many stages of her transition from male to female. The show is a generational story of a loving family and circle of friends supporting one another through this unfamiliar and unexpected situation.

Melissa and Joey
Joe surprises Mel with a honeymoon getaway, but things don’t go as planned on the season premiere of “Melissa & Joey,” airing Wednesday, January 14 (8:00PM ET/PT) on ABC Family.
Mel is less than thrilled when her honeymoon to Tahiti gets cancelled due to her broken leg, so Joe surprises her with a cabin getaway. But things go awry, and their dream vacation quickly becomes a nightmare.
Meanwhile, Lennox tries to hide her relationship with Marco (guest star Kevin Fonteyne) from everyone, not realizing Joe had wired the house with cameras before he and Mel left.
Riley admits that she knows how Danny feels about her on the season 4 premiere of “Baby Daddy,” airing Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 8:30PM ET/PT on ABC Family.
In “She Loves Me, She Loves Me Note,” even though Ben and Riley are officially back together, Ben can’t shake the feeling that there’s something going on between Riley and Danny. Tucker is shocked when Riley confesses that she knows how Danny feels about her. In a somewhat flawed plan, Ben decides to test Riley’s feelings for his brother, so he writes Danny a love note and signs her name. When she realizes what he’s done, a furious Riley tracks Ben down in the Rangers’ locker room. Will she be able to convince Ben that he’s really the one she wants, or is he right to wonder if there’s something more between his girlfriend and her best friend? Meanwhile, as Danny gets ready to join Georgie in Paris, Bonnie realizes her cash cow is leaving and starts selling his Rangers memorabilia.
Pretty Little Liars
Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer are determined to prove Alison killed Mona in “Through a Glass, Darkly,” the winter season premiere of ABC Family’s hit original series “Pretty Little Liars,” premiering Tuesday, January 6th (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT). Fans can prepare for the return to Rosewood in an all-day marathon starting at 12:00 PM (ET/PT) and running up to the one-hour winter season premiere at 8:00 PM (ET/PT).
Three months have passed, and Mona’s friends and family are still mourning their loss and more adamant than ever that Alison had something to do with Mona’s death. Ready to put “A’s” game to an end and get justice for Mona, the PLLs ramp up their search for evidence that could prove Alison killed Mona. But with Alison claiming her innocence and having a seemingly airtight alibi, the Liars may have to resort to more shady tactics to put Ali away.

The family and Emmett discover Bay’s impulsive decision to take the blame for Daphne, and no one is happy about it. Meanwhile, Daphne is determined to prove herself worthy of her switchster’s sacrifice while also dealing with the challenges of starting college in the fourth season premiere of “Switched at Birth,” airing Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 9:00PM ET/PT on ABC Family.
With both Emmett and Daphne heading off to college, Bay finds that taking the blame for Daphne may be harder than she thought. Daphne struggles to adapt to being a pre-med student as she faces her own guilt for letting Bay take the fall for her illegal actions. Regina frets over what will soon be an empty nest.
Picking up from the cliffhanger finale, Callie is left in a tailspin when the Quinns demonstrate a sincere interest in having her be part of their family in the Winter premiere of “The Fosters,” airing Monday, January 19, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
As Callie tries to wrap her head around Robert’s change-of-heart, an ambulance shows up at the Quinn’s house. April returns to work and learns there have been major changes at the paper during her absence in “Next April,” the Winter premiere of “Chasing Life,” airing Monday, January 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
After leaving Leo flat-lining at the end of the Christmas episode, April must deal with the outcome of the surgery. Facing her new reality, she must also face her first day back at work after being gone for four months. In remission and determined to move on with her life, her return reveals a new, young and ambitious boss at the paper who is ready to shake things up. But April’s attempt to make a good impression may fall short when she botches her first assignment.
Meanwhile with an ideal marrow donor still to be found, Sara realizes it’s time to reach out to the “other woman,” Natalie’s mother. Brenna eagerly anticipates Greer’s return to school, but will she get the happy reunion she’s been waiting for?
